What is a flange clamp?

2023-07-14
A flange clamp is a clamp used to connect pipes, pipe fittings or other equipment. Flanges usually consist of two flanges, bolts and nuts. A flange is a flat ring-shaped part, usually made of metal, with fixing holes for bolts. The term is derived from French and refers to a closed ring or vessel, when two or more pipes or fittings are joined, the connections are not hermetically sealed.

The function of the  flange clamp is to connect two pipes or fittings together and provide a sealed connection. There are some fixing holes on the flange for the installation of bolts. These bolts and nuts are installed through the fixing holes in the flanges, and the flanges are clamped together with proper torque.
